Award honors Idaho's 'VISION'

The Idaho Farm Bureau recently won the New Horizon Award for its efforts to identify what the organization was doing right and what it needed to work on.

The award, presented by the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture during its annual meeting in Phoenix, honors states deemed as having implemented the most innovative programs.

Idaho's VISION program, which earned the state the award, brought together more than 70 people to form six committees that turned in 93 proposals for the farm bureau's review.

“The Awards of Excellence are awarded to Idaho Farm Bureau because it demonstrated outstanding achievements in six program areas: education and outreach, leadership development, member benefits, membership initiatives, policy development and implementation, and public relations and communications,”  Idaho Farm Bureau CEO Rick Keller said.
