AMERICAN FARM BUREAU FEDERATION: Support Ag Literacy Through the AFB Foundation for Agriculture’s Online Silent Auction

American Farm Beureau Federation issued the following announcement on Jan. 4.

Again this year, the American Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture’s online Silent Auction gives everyone the opportunity to support ag literacy. Bidding opens on Jan. 4 and closes on Jan. 13 at 3 p.m. EST.

All the proceeds from the Silent Auction support the Foundation’s mission of building awareness, understanding and a positive public perception of agriculture through education. The Foundation’s programs include the online resource My American Farm, mini-grants for agricultural literacy projects, the Purple Plow STEM learning challenge, scholarships to the National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference, Ag Mags, a middle school curriculum, Food and Farm Facts and more.

“We have auctions items from well-known brands like Lands' End and L.L. Bean, as well as Visa and Amazon gift cards, sporting event tickets and gift baskets showcasing various states’ homegrown treats,” said Daniel Meloy, executive director of the Foundation.

The Silent Auction’s website gives bidders the ability to set a high bid and have the site make automatic bids up to that amount, so bidders won’t miss out on their favorite items.

Place a bid before the Foundation Silent Auction closes on Jan. 13 at 3 p.m. EST.

Along with the Silent Auction, all the American Farm Bureau Virtual Convention events will be online Jan. 10-13. Registration is free and open to the public.
