Bayer said this week it is launching Bayer Production Ornamentals, a new business under the Environmental Science business unit of the Crop
Science division that will focus on professional growers.
"Bayer will bring to production ornamentals the things
that we pride ourselves on in the turf market – from dependable sales and
technical support to comprehensive pest management programs that help growers
expand their businesses," Bayer U.S. Ornamental Business Manager John
Wendorf said. "We look forward to working with a strong group of suppliers
and engaging daily with the growers that make this market so vibrant. Together,
we know we'll grow something beautiful."
The Production Ornamentals business will give greenhouse growers
and nurseries access to Bayer's portfolio of product and pest management solutions
and support from technical experts. Among the key offerings are Marengo, a
pre-emergent herbicide to control weeds, and Savate, a miticide used to control
mites and whiteflies at all stages of their life cycles, including eggs.
"The Bayer mission of Science For A Better Life means
that we are constantly innovating and developing new, science-backed solutions
that make our customers' lives easier," Wendorf said. "The Bayer
product portfolio is built from decades of research and first-hand experience
in the ornamentals industry, and we have some ground-breaking innovations
coming in 2017 that we can't wait to share with growers."
