John Fournier of Acadia Regulatory Consulting LLC has accepted a position with BioNovelus Inc. of Phoenix, as an Environmental Protection Agency specialist focused on facilitating registration for the firm’s CR-10 and related products.

When he previously served with the EPA, Fournier handled the Biopesticides and Pollution Prevention Division in Arlington, Virginia, where he managed processing for biochemical pesticides and related items.

Fournier also worked with Marrone Bio Innovations in a similar capacity, representing the firm in meetings with numerous federal and state regulatory agencies as well as international entities. Additionally, he belongs to the Biopesticide Industry Alliance (BPIA) and continues to work with BPIA member companies and the Pest Management Regulatory Agency.

BioNovelus is committed to original, economical and technology-based solutions to agricultural and water issues. Currently, it is committed to supporting the coffee industry’s battle against a devastating fungus called “Coffee Rust” (Hemileia vastatrix) that is attacking the Arabica plant and has adversely impacted Central America’s coffee industry for the past several years.

With CR-10 pilot testing in Mexico and Costa Rica, BioNovelus hopes to conquer fungi, bacteria and spores affecting coffee and additional crops. The company works with partner firms in Mexico as it continues its research and development.
