The Avid 0.15 EC miticide/insecticide 24(c) Special Local Needs registration ended June 30 for product use on golf courses in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Virginia.

The Syngenta products, including The Avid + Heritage fungicide and Avid + Heritage Action fungicide Multipaks, can continue to be used for one year, but no new product will be sold. The cancellation of the registration does not affect ornamental plants.

“Syngenta remains committed to researching new nematode management solutions for golf course superintendents,” Gregg Wisniewski, insecticide brand manager at Syngenta, said. “We look forward to bringing new innovations for nematode control to the market in early 2017.”

Growers are encouraged to contact their local Syngenta territory manager with any questions.
