The new Protassium+ Organic sulfate of potash (SOP) from Compass Minerals is an option for growers who want an organic and reliable potassium fertilizer.

The fertilizer is approved for organic food production by the Organic Materials Review Institute, California Department of Food and Agriculture and USDA National Organic Standards Board.

A positive of Protassium+ Organic is that it does not require as much product to be applied as other fertilizers, such as manure.

“Organic food production is increasing each year. To help meet this demand, our customers are asking for a safe, reliable and high-quality organic potassium nutrient product for their crops,” Todd Denzin, vice president of sales and marketing for Compass Minerals, said. “From the moment Protassium+ is drawn from the Great Salt Lake, it is in its purest organic form. We do our best to preserve that integrity until it arrives to our growers’ fields.”
