A group of French delegates recently met with the National Corn Growers Association Vice President of Production and Stewardship Paul Bertels and Director of Biotechnology and Crop Inputs Nathan Fields.

The French group included World Wildlife Foundation France Department of Food and Agriculture Head Arnaud Gauffier; Ministry of Ecology Joseph Lunet de la Malene; and Ann Sophie Novel, an economist and freelance journalist.

The French delegates were particularly interested in learning about American corn farming practices and the development and use of ethanol. The U.S. State Departments International Visitor Leadership Program invited the delegates to examine policies and procedures for reducing for greenhouse gases and promoting low-carbon emissions.

The discussions also included soil health and modern agricultural practices.
