Growers receive weed help from Enlist field specialists

Enlist field specialists have a wealth of knowledge about getting rid of weeds and the tools growers can use to produce the healthiest and largest yield possible.

The specialists are available for any grower who adopts the Enlist system, providing technical support, training and service inquires. The Enlist Ahead management resource program also helps farmers as a resource for weed control now and in the future.

“We saw a lot of rainfall during the 2015 growing season that hampered grower efforts to get into fields to control weeds,” Jonathan Siebert, Enlist field sales leader, said. “We’ve also had a wet fall and winter so far. This means growers will need to pay close attention to weed management plans this spring.”

Enlist encourages growers to use both a pre- and post-emergence herbicide as part of a combination of actions to control tough weeds. Enlist can help growers to find the best tools like nozzles for their unique farm.

Enlist corn and Enlist soybeans can be used with Enlist Duo herbicide but it is not registered for cotton. Enlist Duo is a proprietary blend of glyphosate and new 2 4-D choline that helps preserve and prolong efficacy of the active ingredients to control weeds.

“Growers who plan their herbicide applications can control weeds better and, by using multiple modes of action, help prevent the development of herbicide-resistant weeds,” Siebert said. “If retailers or growers have any questions, their regional Enlist field specialist or Dow AgroSciences representative can provide answers and additional sources of information. Our goal is to help growers achieve successful weed management for their fields in 2016 and in future years.”
