Saab named CropLife America's senior director of environmental policy

Dr. Imad Saab will also help manage the Endangered Species Issues Management Team.

Dr. Imad Saab will take the position of senior director of environmental policy for CropLife America (CLA). 

In this position, Saab will be in charge of the development, implementation and management of science and regulatory policy strategies on environmental issues in accordance with CLA’s objectives. In addition to his primary role, Saab will also help manage the Endangered Species Issues Management Team and the Environmental Risk Assessment Committee.

“Dr. Saab is an exceptional addition to our association,” CLA President and CEO Jay Vroom said. “With experience working with regulators and agricultural stakeholders around the world, he will help us to better address pesticide policy challenges for our members in the U.S. Today’s agricultural methods depend on sound science, and Dr. Saab’s expertise in both biotech policy and research will help enhance our advocacy efforts.”

Saab previously spent 18 years at DuPont Pioneer in research, product development, regulatory policy, capacity building and most recently as senior manager for biotech and business affairs on a global scale.

“Year after year, our industry continues to advance the tools that farmers can use to protect their crops with reduced environmental impact, and Dr. Saab has extensive experience in developing these vital products,” Janet Collins, CLA's senior vice president of science and regulatory policy, said. “We are delighted to have him join our team and help communicate the importance of precise data and scientific methods in evaluating the benefits of pesticide technology.”
