EAG opening environmental testing expansion facility in Maryland

EAG, Inc. said Aug. 13 it is opening a 29,000-square-foot facility expansion in Easton, Maryland, to support growth in its chemistry, environmental fate and aquatic toxicology testing services.

The expansion will increases the company’s capacity for conducting many GLP-compliant studies required to meet global regulatory requirements for the testing of agrochemical, industrial chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and animal health products.

The expansion follows the company's acquisition of ABC Laboratories, a Missouri-based company that provides product development and analytical testing services to agrochemical, pharmaceutical, biotech and chemical industries.

The Easton location, which conducts business as Wildlife International, also plans to significantly add to its scientific staff with chemists, biologists and ecotoxicology experts.

“EAG has experienced significant demand for its services, driven largely by global concern over chemicals in the environment and the resulting increased regulation", EAG Senior Vice President Prasad Raje said.

EAG supports many global regulatory requirements for testing the safety, toxicology and environmental impact of chemicals, including prominent initiatives such as the Endocrine Disruption Screening Program (EDSP) in the United States and REACH (Regulation on Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) program in Europe, as well as data call-ins and re-registrations.
