Syngenta has once again co-sponsored the Leadership At Its Best Program for all members of the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA).

This year is the 29th year for the academy, providing tremendous help to corn growers across America since 1986. This year's first session took place the week of Aug. 10 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and focused on issues facing the association as well as the future of corn farmers in the U.S.

The 14 participates also participated in public speaking, media training and management skills building exercises.

"As a Leadership Academy graduate, I have a deep appreciation for the confidence and skills attendees develop in such a short time, and of the ability of Syngenta and other presenters to hone in on what is most needed," NCGA President Chip Bowling said.

The second session of the Leadership Academy will be held in Washington in Jan. 2016 and will shift focus to policy issues, working with Capitol Hill and parliamentary procedure.

The Leadership Academy sessions help farmers to better understand the current state of the corn industry and to learn skills to help the industry thrive in the future.
