AgSense updates linear irrigation software

AgSense, a cloud-based developer of remote-managed irrigation controls, recently implemented a major software update.

The improvement will be useful to growers who are using AgSense Field Commander hardware for the monitoring and maintenance of linear and lateral irrigation systems.

"This significant update is the only one of its kind in the industry and features a comprehensive new section for control of linear irrigation units," AgSense Software Development Engineer Aaron Berger said.

Through the update, users can choose what options they remotely manage by setting a distance from any designated field boundary, whether it be stop-in-slot, variable speed or end-gun control. The improvements also include a variety of linear-specific reports to assist growers in assessing irrigation plans as well as complying with any water usage or reporting mandates.

The improved software is available free of charge and has been added to the AgSense dashboard at Wag.Net. It can be used on desktop computers; a mobile app is in development and is expected to be available later this year.
