ALABAMA FARMERS FEDERATION: Perry Joins Federation’s Destinations Department As Meeting Planner

Alabama Farmers Federation issued the following announcement on April 29.

Telea Perry started work April 22 as a meeting planner in the Alabama Farmers Federation's Destinations Department.

Telea Perry started work in the Alabama Farmers Federation’s Destinations Department as a meeting planner April 22.

Perry, 34, has 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry. She previously worked for Hilton Garden Inn Montgomery EastChase and Renaissance Montgomery Hotel & Spa.

“I’m excited to hit the ground running to help plan first-class events for Federation members and Alfa Insurance employees,” Perry said. “From farm tours and agriculture seminars to awards presentations and incentive trips, I know I’ll never get bored with the variety of event-planning opportunities here.”

Destinations Department Director Shane Watkins said Perry’s vast knowledge of the industry is a huge asset.

“Telea knows this business inside and out, and she’s even worked with two Montgomery venues we often partner with for events,” Watkins said. “Her expertise is the perfect fit, and we’re thankful to add such a talented individual to our team."

A native of Springfield, Illinois, Perry graduated from Faulkner University in 2014 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She is an active member of Capitol City Church of God in Christ, where she plays drums in the church band.

The Destinations Department serves as the Federation’s in-house meeting and event-planning group. With the addition of Perry, the department’s five staff members represent nearly 60 years of expertise in the hospitality field. In 2018, Destinations planned 28 major events and booked over 4,200 hotel rooms for the Federation and insurance company.
