Syngenta released a new program in June to combat the threat of fleas and ticks called SecureChoice Flea and Tick Assurance Program.

The program offers Pest Management Professionals (PMPs) a product similar to the SecureChoice Mosquito Assurance Program to provide a wider range of pest control options. The Flea and Tick Program lasts for 90 days after the first application with the combination of Demand CS insecticide, which controls fleas and ticks immediately while Archer insect growth kills the flea and tick’s ability to reproduce.

“We’re proud to expand the SecureChoice brand and continue the trend of providing assurance to PMPs and homeowners of their pest control results for even more types of insects,” Steve Dorer, market manager for Professional Pest Management (PPM) at Syngenta North America, said. “Successfully introduced for mosquitoes last year, a SecureChoice assurance program now exists for fleas and ticks as well.”

The program period, when PMPs can purchase Demand CS and Archer, runs from Jan. 1 to Nov. 30. PMPs must apply the chemicals by the last day of the year. Syngenta will provide extra chemicals if the initial application does not work.

“Beyond being a nuisance, these pests pose serious threats to public health — ticks, for example, are vectors of Lyme disease,” Pat Willenbrock, head of marketing for PPM at Syngenta North America, said. “By launching the SecureChoice Flea and Tick Assurance Program, we’re helping PMPs identify ways to grow their business through a new service offering, which increases their value to customers.”
