The 12 recently registered soybean herbicides do not have an active ingredient with a new mode of action, but instead are pre-mixes of existing herbicides.

The first is called Afforia and is used for burndown and preplant residual control of broadleaf weeds and partial control of annual grasses in soybean. According to directions, 2.5 ounces per acre a day can be applied before planting soybean or 2.5 to 3.75 ounces per acre if applied at least seven days before planting soybean.

Authority Maxx is a pre-plant or pre-emergence soybean herbicide used for broadleaf and partial grass weed control.

The herbicide Fierce is a new premix especially designed for pre-emergence control of broadleaf and grass weeds.

Fierce XLT provides residual control of broadleaf and grass weeds in soybean. One note for farmers in Nebraska: Fierce XLT can only be used in fields south of U.S. Route 30 and east of U.S. Route 281. All farmers are warned not to apply more than 5.25 ounces per acre per growing season and not to mix with other herbicides containing chlorimuron.

Marvel is a new premix herbicide for post-emergence weed control in soybeans. It can be applied at 5 to 7.25 fluid ounces per acre from pre-plant through full flowering stage.

Ransom is a selective herbicide for pre-emergence control or suppression of susceptible broadleaf weed and annual grass weeds in soybean plants.

Rowel can be applied to soybeans prior to planting or at pre-emergence within three days of planting soybeans. It should not be applied more than 3 ounces per acre per growing season. If applied after soybeans have begun to crack or are emerged, severe crop injury will result.

Rowel FX is a selective herbicide for pre-emergence control of broadleaf weeds and suppression of certain annual grasses in soybeans. Do not apply more than 5 ounces per acre in a single season.

Surveil FR is a premix formulation for pre-emergence control of specific weeds in soybeans.

Trivence is a burndown and residual herbicide for preplant and pre-emergence to soybean. It rapidly inhibits the growth of weeds. It can be applied at 6 to 9 ounces per acre.

Warrant Ultra can be applied as a preplant surface, pre-emergence or post emergence soybean treatment. It provides residual and burndown activity but can only be applied once per growing season. In Nebraska, it is limited to a maximum of 48 fluid ounces per acre every other year.
