Last weekend, NASCAR helped the American Ethanol partnership of the National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) and Growth Energy, among others, promote an E15 ethanol blend at the Auto Club 400 race in Fontana, California.

The No. 3 car helped ethanol participate in its first full paint-out with Austin Dillion at the wheel.

“As the world's third-largest petroleum market, California is an important market for American Ethanol,” said Jon Holzfaster, chairman of the NCGA NASCAR Advisory Committee. “Due to the benefits E85 has delivered to flex-fuel vehicle owners in terms of greater power, cleaner air and engine safety, retail fuel customers in California are asking for E15. Because E15 is allowed in 2001 and newer cars, 80 percent of all the gasoline vehicles on the road today could be experiencing those same benefits.”

NASCAR will drive 10 million miles this season on American Ethanol.
