“Spring planting will begin soon in regions across the United States, and may have already started in some locations,” Rod Denton, Monsanto global environmental safety and health lead, said. ”It’s extremely important to keep safety top of mind during this busy time of year for farmers and everyone involved in U.S. agriculture. The Red Cross First Aid App and its new farm-focused content will be a valuable safety resource for both our customers and employees.”
The free app, which is available from smartphone app stores or by texting "getfirst" to 90999, will offer videos, tips and interactive experiences on topics such as child safety and emergency preparedness on the farm, all-terrain vehicles (ATV)’s safety, and grain bin and farm electrical safety.
“We are extremely grateful to Monsanto for their help bringing this lifesaving information to our agricultural communities," Cindy Erickson, CEO of American Red Cross of Eastern Missouri, said. "Our rural families will be safer and better prepared thanks to this partnership with Monsanto."
