Dow AgroSciences recently introduced Elevore, a new herbicide to the market with the goal of increasing the weed control that growers have, especially in burndown situations.

Expectations are that the herbicide will be used for burndown applications for crops of corn and soybeans, giving growers control of broadleaf weeds and ALS-resistant species of weeds. The benefit of burndown is that growers can better ensure a successful and profitable growing season.

The herbicide will include Arylex active, which has been classified as a Group 4 growth regulator herbicide.

The trials of the new herbicide have yielded promising results, such as control of hih-anxiety weeds, such as the glyphosate-resistant weed, Marestail. If Elevore achieves all the required regulatory approval, it will provide a good option for reduced-till and no-till production systems, and will improve control of specific weed species.
