SIPA to host technical education unit

The Seed Innovation and Protection Alliance will host a technical education unit Dec. 8 at the Hyatt Regency in Chicago.

The technical education unit will be held in conjunction with the American Seed Trade Association Corn Sorghum and Soybean Research Conference. Three panel discussions will cover topics including the identification of innovation, procuring protection for innovations, and maintaining intellectual property.

The first panel will be from 8-8:50 a.m. and feature Cecilla Chi-Ham from HM Clause, Tony Sanny from Swanson & Bratchun, and James Weatherly from SIPA.

The second will be from 9 to 9:50 a.m. and will have speakers Barb Cambell from Cochran, Freund & Young; John Schillinger from Schillinger Genetics; and Nancy Parker from the University of Missouri.

The final session will be from 10-10:50 a.m. and feature Dana Rewoldt from Iowa State University, Matthew Grant from Husch Blackwell, and James Weatherly from SIPA.

The sessions are open tot the public.
