The Environmental Protection Agency has awarded BASF’s Armezon PRO full registration for use on all corn types.
The herbicide has a combination of active ingredients to provide the best protection, strong contact and residual weed control. Armezon PRO uses topramezone and dimethenamid-P in the herbicide, the former being the active ingredient in Armezon herbicide and the latter being the active ingredient in Outlook herbicide.
“Growers want flexible options to control weeds based on their farm’s needs,” Daniel Waldstein, BASF's technical market manager, said. “Armezon PRO herbicide has a wide application window and low use rate, resulting in time, storage and money savings.”
A highlight that puts Armezon PRO ahead of other herbicides is that it has high bio-availability, which allows it to work in both dry and wet conditions. This has an especially strong effect on grass and small-seeded broadleaf weeds such as foxtails, barnyardgrass, waterhemp and Palmer amaranth.
“Because Armezon PRO herbicide has strong contact and residual performance, corn growers can rely on its consistency and have less worry about the risk of a re-spray,” Waldstein said. “With Armezon PRO herbicide, we hope to give growers confidence in their weed control.”
Armezon PRO is scheduled to be released to corn growers for the 2016 season.
