Tessenderlo Group subsidiary Tessenderlo Kerley, Inc. (TKI) and DuPont Crop Protection announced Oct. 1 an agreement for TKI to acquire certain DuPont business assets associated with hexazinone and hexazinone/diuron-only products.

Hexazinone is a herbicide used on alfalfa, blueberries, pineapples and sugarcane.

The agreement includes the sale of the Velpar, Pronone and Advance trademarks as well as certain know-how, registrations and supply agreements with third parties.

The sale does not include any assets in Brazil.

"This acquisition is another step for the NovaSource crop protection division of TKI to improve its position in the niche crop protection industry," TKI Group Vice President David Cassidy said. "These products enable NovaSource to add new distribution both in North America and in Asia."

Financial terms of the sale were not disclosed.

"This agreement is another step in the execution of our DuPont Crop Protection business growth strategy," DuPont Crop Protection President Tim Glenn said. "This continues to enhance our focus on innovative new product offerings for our customers."
