DuPont Pioneer is making 12 new Pioneer brand T Series soybean varieties with Roundup Ready 2 Xtend technology available for the 2016 United States planting season, pending regulatory reviews.
"Pioneer brand soybeans with Roundup Ready 2 Xtend technology will provide farmers an improved way to manage tough-to-control weeds while delivering the outstanding yield and service they expect from Pioneer," Steve Reno, DuPont Pioneer vice president and regional director for the United States and Canada, said.
Roundup Ready 2 Xtend technology will enable farmers to apply various herbicides such as glyphosate herbicides and dicamba herbicides, which will provide a new way to manage stubborn weeds.
"DuPont Pioneer sales, agronomy and seed production teams have been gearing up to launch the new trait in Pioneer soybeans," Reno said. "We will have the agronomic data to help our customers get the right products on the right acres to meet their needs and the product volumes to support what we anticipate to be the largest soybean product launch in our history."
The soybeans, which use Roundup Ready 2 Xtend technology, may be used as food, feed and cultivation in the United States and Canada. However, if the technology has not finished the applicable regulatory reviews, Pioneer will have other high-quality soybean varieties for customers who order the new varieties.
