Iteris Inc., a provider of information solutions to the transportation and agriculture markets, has entered into an agreement with Valent U.S.A. Corp. for premium product performance applications through ClearAg application programming interfaces (APIs), meteorological and agronomic professional services, data science and engineering services.
Iteris’ ClearAg APIs, technology and professional resources will support Valent with data acquisition and analysis of crop protection product performance related to weather, soil conditions and other factors affecting crop production.
The company will provide Valent with access to weather conditions and crop canopy-level soil moisture and temperature information at varying depths beneath the ground surface. ClearAg staff will support Valent crop experts to investigate relationships between crop responses and weather and soil conditions over time.
Additionally, Iteris and Valent will collaborate to develop systems that permit customized field or zone modeling capabilities so that soil, vegetation and topographic properties can be specified as a factor in the diagnosis or prognosis of how soil temperature and moisture conditions affects crop growth at several different depths within a soil profile.
Iteris will also help analyze detailed ClearAg-based datasets and surface-elevation data and provide analytics to deliver custom field modeling capabilities to Valent.
