Syngenta recently unveiled 63 new corn hybrids for the 2016 growing season.
These new Gold Harvest, NK and Enogen hybrids are a result of the Yield Engineering System (Y.E.S.), and were developed through a combination of intelligent analytics, testing and technology to allow Syngenta to get the products to market faster.
Syngenta said it expects the new hybrids to provide better crop yield in order to help farmers maximize their return on investment.
“The backbone of our Y.E.S. Yield Engineering System is our unique germplasm,” Eric Boersma, product marketing manager for corn seed at Syngenta, said. “By tapping into the global pool of corn genetics offered by Syngenta, the new 2016 hybrids were developed to efficiently address environmental pressures to help growers maximize their yields and return on investment.”
The hybrids include three traits to helps maximize yield: Agrisure Artesian hybrids convert water into grain more effectively than other hybrids, helping the crop to grow despite changing weather conditions; Agrisure Viptera fights against insects, protecting yield potential from black cutworm, corn ear worm and western bean cutworm, among other pests; and Agrisure Duracade focuses on corn root worm control.
The hybrids also include 2 new Enogen hybrids, which are designed specifically to enhance ethanol production.
