Syngenta to release 22 new NK(R) Soybean varieties

Syngenta will begin offering U.S. growers 22 new performance-class NK(R) Soybean varieties that range in relative maturity(RM) from early 0.009 to late 7.6 RM next year.

The new varieties were produced as part of Syngenta's Y.E.S. Yield Engineering System, which enables Syngenta to bring higher-yielding varieties to the market faster.

The NK Soybean varieties also feature a number of other benefits that help growers start their soybean crops off strong. For instance, NK Soybeans rank among the best in sudden death syndrome (SDS) genetic resistance.

The NK Soybean varieties also provide resistance packages that target common early-season diseases and pests - including iron deficiency chlorosis, soybean cyst nematode and the decay of Phytophthora roots.

"Growers have benefited greatly from our advanced breeding process," Doug Tigges, soybeans genetics product manager at Syngenta, said. "Since the debut of the Y.E.S. Yield Engineering System, the yield potential of our new performance-class NK Soybeans has never been higher."

Chris Blome, a Syngenta seed adviser in Iowa, said he's experienced firsthand the benefits of planting NK soybean varieties.

"NK Soybeans have the best genetic lineup, the most consistent yield and the strongest defensive packages throughout the industry; and the NK Soybeans pipeline is second to none," Blome said. "These seeds have worked very well for us."
