FarmLink CEO calls for farm connectivity, investments in rural regions

FarmLink CEO Ron LeMay spoke on Friday at the White House's Second Annual Rural Opportunity Investment Conference, calling for farms to be connected with innovative technologies and urging investment in rural communities.

The conference brings together those involved in agricultural technology, investment and governmental leaders, and allows them to share and discuss possibilities to grow the agricultural industry in the U.S.

"Agriculture is a fundamental component of America's rural communities and economies," LeMay said. "Know-how and advanced technology have driven substantial progress, but dynamic economic realities require a keen focus on the balance sheet. Today, FarmLink and others are helping to accelerate transformational change to improve the overall business health of farming."

LeMay said that analytical tools and other technologies can allow farms across the country to increase productivity and facilitate growth in yields and their economic stability.

FarmLink is a data and technology company that specializes in the agricultural industry. Their products include programs that provide analytics and insights relating to yield. The company recently launched an online equipment-sharing platform.

"Innovation and progress will come from new ways of thinking about the challenges that agriculture faces and engaging the next generation of farmers so we keep that talent in our rural communities," LeMay said.
