Verdesian Life Sciences recently partnered with Agroalfa, based in Central America, by signing a commercial agreement that will send Verdesian’s patented polymer technology to farms in Panama, Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
The patented polymer technology from Verdesian will help the farmers maintain applied phosphorus and nitrogen present in the soil. This will guarantee that plants are absorbing these nutrients. The technology also prevents nutrient runoff.
“We are excited to announce our partnership with Agroalfa in Central
America,” Greg Thompson, chief operating officer at Verdesian, said. “As
a solutions-based company, we look forward to offering products and
technologies that growers in these countries are looking for and
ultimately helping them increase yields and return on investment by
maximizing crop health.”
Agroalfa is among the biggest agricultural distributors in Central America. The company has offered services and products to farmers for over 20 years in Nicaragua and over 40 years in Panama and Costa Rica. As of today, Agroalfa has 10 locations spread across Nicaragua, including Leon, Chinandega, Juigalpa, Jinotega, Matagalpa, Esteli, Sebaco, Malcatoya, Rivas and Managua.
“Agroalfa is looking to expand its offerings to their customers, and the Verdesian portfolio of plant health technologies is uniquely suited to help farmers in the region produce higher-quality crops while minimizing the impact on the environment,” Thompson said.
