Stockton Group to launch Timorex Gold fungicide in the Philippines

The Stockton Group's Philippines unit announced Tuesday that it will launch the organic fungicide Timorex Gold across the country next week.

Stockton-Agrimor Philippines Inc. recently received approval from the country’s Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards for use of Timorex Gold in Black Sigatoka disease.

The approval gives growers in the Philippines an effective organic fungicide for the control of the disease in conventional and organic production of banana and plantain. Timorex Gold, which is an eco-friendly bio-fungicide, helps to reduce the overall chemical load and harmful residue levels in the plants and leaves no residue in the soil, water or air.

Stockton-Agrimor Country Manager Arturo Alejar Jr. said approval of the product is an important breakthrough for the Philippines, pointing out that Timorex Gold is the country’s first organic fungicide approved for Black Sigatoka.

During field trials, the product demonstrated multiple sites of action and powerful prophylactic and curative efficacy against Black Sigatoka in the most intense disease-pressure conditions. It offers a unique advantage under stress conditions caused by mycosphaerella fijiensis in its different infectious stages.
