FMC introduces new herbicide formulation to control weeds

FMC Corp. recently introduced a new water-soluble liquid herbicide in the United States, which is designed to control more than 40 weeds and offers increased application efficiency.

The new product, Solitare WSL, which contains a surfactant for faster plant penetration, will not settle out or separate when mixed with water. It is designed to combat crabgrass, sedges and broadleaf weeds in a single application.

FMC Herbicide Brand Manager Jay Young claimed that Solitare WSL adds efficiency to ride-on sprayer applications and offers increased flexibility and outstanding weed performance.

"Solitare WSL is an excellent example of FMC's commitment to customer-driven innovation," Young said.

After treatment with Solitare, symptoms appear in just a few days. The product is an optimized, dual-action formulation of sulfentrazone and quinclorac. Solitare controls goose grass, ground ivy, chickweed, closer, spurge and many other troublesome weeds, and it may be used on seeded, sodded or sprigged turf grasses that are well established.

Turf-management professionals who purchase Solitare before July 31 will receive $5 off each 3/4-gallon jug.
