Vive Crop Protection's Allosperse fungicide formulation registered by EPA

Vive Crop Protection, Inc. said Wednesday its new azoxystrobin-based fungicide product using its proprietary Allosperse formulation technology was recently registered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

"We're thrilled to have Vive's first commercial product registered," Vive CEO Keith Thomas said. "We have several more registrations in process and a full pipeline of Allosperse formulations in advanced development. We are looking forward to launching more products as we accelerate our growth."

The new product by Toronto-based Vuve is a broad-spectrum fungicide for use in early season, in-furrow application.

Vive's new formulation has been tested for compatibility and stability in a variety of starter and other liquid fertilizers. These combinations have been shown to increase yields in corn, soybeans and other crops. When the product is mixed with starter fertilizer it will not clog nozzles, and it has been proven to be effective in sustained cold weather.

"Liquid fertilizer compatibility is important to growers who want to maximize the efficiency of their early-season nutrition and protection program," Vive Chief Commercial Officer Skip Campbell said. "Avoiding equipment issues like clogged lines and fouled tanks saves time and money, and compatible products can be used together to save passes over the field."
