Bayer CropScience realigns executive committee functions

Bayer CropScience said Wednesday it is making changes in its executive committee in order to align the strategic vision of the company with enhanced dialogue capabilities with stakeholders.

The changes create two new functions, business affairs and communication and strategy and portfolio management.

Business affairs and communication will manage and oversee business activity relating to public relations, market and stakeholder information, governmental and public affairs, sustainability and other areas. This function eliminates the need for the previous business management division.

Bernd Naaf has been selected to take the lead role in business affairs and communication. Previously he served as head of business management.

Mathias Kremer will head the new strategy and portfolio function, he was previously head of strategy for the company.

Beth Roden has been selected to take the position of global head of communication following the departure of Steffen Kurzawa, who has resigned in order to pursue other career opportunities. Previously Roden served as the head of Bayer CropScience communication in the U.S.

All positions became effective as of June 1.

Bayer has multiple divisions within health care, technology and in agriculture. In 2014, the CropScience division of the company saw sales amounting to approximately $10.7 million.
