Rotam CropSciences announced today that it has merged with China’s Tianjin Longde Chemical, which develops and manufactures crop protection formulation products.
Rotam has cooperated with the Cibus – United States in a global non-genetically modified organisms (GMO) Rapid Trait Development System (RTDS) herbicide tolerance research and production program. RTDS is a rapid and precise herbicide-breeding tolerance system that is accepted as a non-GMO technology in the U.S., the EU and China.
The system has successfully developed the herbicide-tolerant canola, which was approved by U.S. Food and Drug Administration in 2014.
The capacity of Rotam’s Longde, China, facility is nearly twice that of its Kunshan plant and is capable of meeting projected business growth for the next five to seven years.
