Helena Chemical Co. launches two crop boosters

Helena Chemical Co. announced Tuesday that it has launched two products that are designed to improve soil health, fertilizer performance and nutrients.

According to the company, the MicroMerge 55441SP and Receptor products will increase yields and crop efficiency.

MicroMerge is a collection of nutrients that creates more nutrient balance when used with fertilizer. The company states this mix -- consisting of magnesium, iron, manganese, sulfur and zinc -- is able to address nutrient deficiencies and to prevent them from occurring. With the use of MicroMerge, growers are able to mix fertilizers together and provide a uniform application of nutrients necessary for plant growth and overall health.

Receptor acts as a growth regulator and is registered with the Environmental Protection Agency. According to the announcement, this compound is able to increase fertilizer uptake in plants that allows the fertilizer to be used more efficiently. The product was shown in studies to have numerous benefits dependent on with which fertilizer elements it was paired.

In tests involving nitrogen, Receptor was able to mitigate nitrate leaching, allowing plants to increase their intake. With phosphorus or blends of the element, the product was able to make soil-based phosphorus more soluble and easier to work with. It also prevented reactions of phosphorus with calcium or iron.
