Rotam's 2014 sales increase outpaces overall growth in crop protection market

Rotam Global AgroSciences Ltd. announced today that its 2014 sales outpaced overall growth in the global crop protection market.

Rotam recorded sales of nearly $353 million (USD) last year, up roughly $61 million from 2013. The 21 percent sales increase far exceeded the estimated 4.5 percent gain in the worldwide crop protection market in 2014. Rotam said it outperformed the market in every region last year.

In China, sales gains resulted from product consolidation, increased focus on crop solutions and greater market penetration. In the NAFTA region, Rotam’s strong results came from supplying the herbicide Dicamba in a tight market, favorable spring weather and increased demand for glyphosate resistance management programs.

The company recorded outstanding results in Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador and Venezuela, offsetting challenges in Colombia. Rotam sales in Europe -- particularly fungicides and herbicides -- recovered from 2013, when unseasonably poor weather affected crops. The company also strengthened its leading European pest control position with Abamectin.
