Bureau Veritas acquires Brazil’s Kuhlmann Monitoramento Agrícola

Global laboratory testing and inspection service Bureau Veritas, based in France, said it recently purchased Kuhlmann Monitoramento Agrícola (KMA), a Brazilian firm that monitors and audits services for the agricultural food sector.

KMA operates two laboratories in Brazil’s agricultural production regions and brings a client portfolio of key international companies in the agri-food and chemical markets. Displaying robust growth in the recent past, it has thrived on Brazil’s healthy agriculture sector.

KMA CEO Eduardo Kuhlmann said he was satisfied with the acquisition, saying it will be good for employees, strengthen customer relations and facilitate development of new services.

"The addition of KMA enables us to diversify our activities in Brazil and makes Bureau Veritas a market leader in one of the biggest agricultural markets in the world in upstream services,” Bureau Veritas CEO Didier Michaud-Daniel said from the firm’s hub in France. “This move also supports our strategic ambitions in the agri-food sector on a global scale."

Bureau Veritas operates eight affiliated businesses worldwide, comprising marine and offshore interests, industry, construction, commodities and products, government services and trade as well as in-service inspection and certification.
