Jessica Wharton is the American Soybean Association's new state policy coordinator and communications manager.

Wharton was previously a part of the American Farm Bureau Federation as a communications and media relations coordinator.

“We are excited to welcome Jessica to the ASA team,” CEO Steve Censky said. “Her previous industry experience and communications knowledge will play a major role in coordinating ASA’s policy objectives and successes with our state affiliates.”

The Akron, Ohio native holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Palm Beach Atlantic University and will be based in the ASA’s Washington, D.C. office.

“Jessica will fill a much needed position on our staff,” John Gordley, director of ASA’s Washington office, said. “Linking producer support to ASA’s policy initiatives through our member states will make all of us more effective in getting soybean priorities acted on by Congress.”
