On April 13, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Women in Agriculture Mentoring Network held an engagement conference call with the National Corn Growers Association's past president Pam Johnson on the panel.

The call was geared toward women who wanted to start a career in farming or ranching and women who have just started farming or ranching. Topics included what tools are available, what to expect, and how women can help each other succeed.

The presentation concluded with a time for questions.

In addition to Johnson, speakers included Lilia McFarland, new farmer coordinator for the USDA; A-dae Romero, director of community development for Pulama Lana’i, Hawaii; and contributor to the First Nations Development Institute.
