DeKalb Disease Shield provides protection from the major diseases that can spread in corn, helping growers improve their yields and profits while reducing the risks of expensive plant illnesses.

DeKalb engineers used new genetics to create this product. The new lineup implements the latest in technology, genome wide selection and predictive analytics to protect corn and its farmers.

“Farmers typically experience these diseases every one or two seasons out of every five, but in any given season, they never know whether their fields will be at risk,” DeKalb Brand Manager Rebecca Waller said. “With DeKalb Disease Shield, farmers can grow more confidently, maximizing the potential of their top-yielding DeKalb products on every acre, from field to field.”

Available for the 2017 growing season, the new line of products will also improve the overall health of the plant by making it more standable and harvestable.

“DeKalb Disease Shield products have shown strong performance in trials and demonstrated an advantage over competitor products,” Waller said. "On-farm trials are planned for the 2016 season to give farmers the opportunity to experience the comprehensive disease protection firsthand and to provide feedback to help us make future commercialization decisions.”
