Tree nut and stone fruit fungicide Quash from Valent USA Corp. was officially registered for use in California for prevention of Botryosphaeria (Bot) blight in walnuts.

"With yield-robbing Botryosphaeria blight increasing in California walnuts, the new registration for Quash provides the state’s growers with a valuable tool for producing optimal yields and improved crop quality," Kenny Seebold, fungicide product development manager for Valent, said. "Research shows that Quash is effective against the top species in the Bot blight complex for walnuts, which complements the fungicide’s long-standing preventive disease control in almonds and pistachios."

Quash reduces pathogen populations at harvest and reduced incidence and development of Bot blight severity in a season long study when applied alone or in a rotation program effectively.

California-based Valent USA develops and markets products sold in the U.S. and Canada with the goals of protecting agricultural crops.
