Albaugh to open seed-treatment technology center in Tennessee

Albaugh LLC, a producer of post-patent herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and plant-growth regulators, will open a new seed-treatment technology center in Memphis, Tennessee.

The center will focus on the discovery and development of biological and traditional seed treatment technology. It will help Albaugh develop new seed-treatment products using a new laboratory for biological assays, microscopy and nutritional analysis of plants. The temperature-controlled rooms will have an area for plantability and dust-off potential of seed treatments.

“We are excited about the opportunity to open a new technology center to support our seed-treatment platform,” Spencer Vance, Albaugh's president of North America business, said. “Seed treatments are clearly a growth segment and Albaugh is focused on innovative technology and our investment in the new seed treatment technology center will help us deliver that technology to the market.”

The new facility will help Albaugh to develop a wider portfolio which will lead to a better return on investment.

“Growers are looking for seed treatments that enhance performance and provide a positive return on investment,” David Long, Albaugh’s technical manager, said. “The use of seed treatments and seed-treatment offers continue to grow with seed companies and growers, and Albaugh is expanding its seed-treatment technology platform with new product concepts. The Albaugh seed-treatment technology center will help us evaluate and more efficiently deliver technically superior products to the seed-treatment market.”
