The Corn Refiners Association said Friday it supports the newly agreed upon Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), and hopes Congress will approve the deal.
“The Asia-Pacific region, and specifically the nations participating in the TPP are an incredibly important market for the U.S. corn refining industry, accounting for roughly 40 percent of our exports,”

President and CEO John Bode said. “We are confident that this deal will help promote and support American exports into these countries. The United States, led by the team at United States Trade Representative, achieved a meaningful trade agreement that will benefit all American industries.”
The partnership was agreed upon in October between Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.
The Corn Refiners Association has represented members of the corn refining and wet milling industries since 1913.
