DuPont announces 2020 Sustainability Goals

DuPont announced its 2020 Sustainability Goals as part of its continuing commitment to sustainability.

DuPont's keystone commitment is to integrate sustainability into its innovation process as well as research and development. The 2020 Sustainability Goals also include DuPont’s Food Security Goals, updated footprint goals that tackle greenhouse gases, energy, and water and waste problems.

“We are continuing on our sustainability journey at DuPont by challenging all new products in our innovation pipeline to contribute to a safer, healthier, more sustainable planet by 2020,” DuPont Chief Sustainability Officer Linda Fisher said. “Innovation and sustainability remain two of DuPont’s greatest strengths and represent significant growth opportunities for DuPont, while creating value for our customers, the marketplace and society.”

DuPont will develop annual reports on the quantifiable benefits from the company’s major innovations. The benefits in safety, health and sustainability will be highlighted and may include carbon emissions numbers, ecosystem benefits, or workers’ safety conditions.

“We are increasingly seeing customers who want to partner with DuPont to create more value for their consumers through sustainability,” Senior Vice President Douglas Muzyka said. “As we develop value propositions for our new products – from inception to delivery – sustainability benefits can create unique competitive advantages for DuPont and our customers while driving shareholder and societal benefits.”
