CropLife America applauds CNFA's role in global crop protection

Cultivating New Frontiers in Agriculture (CNFA) has been working for 30 years to feed the globe, and CropLife America applauds its work to increase access to products for crop protection, therefore helping local economies through larger crop yields.

CropLife America President and CEO Jay Vroom spoke about the role of technology in helping farmers in the developing world during an event to celebrate CNFA’s 30th anniversary.

“The pressure on farmers to produce more and increase sustainability simply means that technology innovation – and the companies delivering that technology – must partner with all farmers to deliver on that societal expectation,” Vroom said. “The crop technologies companies providing crop biotech and protection products have stepped up our work in the developing world. Small-holder farmers are in our focus and partners like CNFA are crucial to our progress.”

Vroom also talked about CropLife programs that are providing safe-use training to farmers while educating dealers, farmers and governments about the threat of counterfeit products. The training also assists governments with regulatory capacity-building.

“By bringing technology and expertise from the developed to the developing world, we – with the help of CNFA – are advancing smallholder farmer progress and growing a market for tomorrow," he said. "Sustainable outcomes are a reality today and a bigger opportunity tomorrow.”
