DuPont's Canopy Blend herbicide gets EPA approval for 2016 soybean season

DuPont said Thursday its Canopy Blend broadleaf weed control has been approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and will be available for the 2016 soybean crop season.

Canopy Blend can be used before or at soybean planting and joins DuPont's Afforia and Trivence herbicide products to offer soybean growers different weed-control options.

Canopy Blend is a dry granular herbicide that is easy to measure, pour, mix and store.

“The innovative formulation meets grower needs for effective control of challenging weeds, including glyphosate-tolerant Palmer pigweed and marestail, while helping to avoid further resistance development,” North America Business Director for DuPont Crop Protection James Hay said. “And the easy-to-use formulation will save growers, retailers and applicators time and trouble as they address multiple crop production needs during the busy spring season. It’s another tool that will help achieve our combined goal of increasing production to feed the growing world population.”
