Exosect to present on re-formulation at ADM Institute's international Congress

Exosect research on a re-formulation of insecticides will be delivered this week at the ADM Institute’s First International Congress on Postharvest Loss Prevention.

New measures and standards for global food production have caused the use of pesticides to also have new standards of production, causing a delicate balance of working with less to produce more food. In the latest development of its Entostat technology, Exosect is able to demonstrate a novel solution to this challenge.

Stored product insects must be controlled to protect food for both human and animal consumption. Many products that used to be able to control this problem are no longer available and the few left have to adjust their formulas to beat insect resistance. The Entostat patented micro-powders use natural properties to improve both chemical and biological delivery.

The results of research on insect mortality while reducing the amount of deltamethrin by half will be presented by Freya Scoates of Exosect at the Congress, which runs today through Wednesday.

This novel technology is only part of a wider Integrated Pest Management portfolio that Exosect has developed, including an Entostat formulation of the bio-control agent Beauvera bassiana. Entostat technology enables pesticide manufacturers to develop low-chem and bio-pesticide formulations.
