Syngenta’s research facility in Stein, Switzerland, unveiled details this week about developments in its product pipeline of innovation across chemistry, seeds and traits.
The pipeline contains several technologies across all product lines to further accelerate value creation and extend the company's position.
Details also included forecasts, including estimates for corn-trait revenue to double by 2020 as the pipeline expands. The company also outlined 15 new products that will be involved in crop protection. Peak sales are estimated to surpass $3.6 billion.
The new pipeline combines a variety of technologies and will serve to speed value creation and expand the company’s current position as a leader in the industry.
Specifically for crop protection, Syngenta displayed its new technology pipeline, which will be dedicated to nine new active ingredients, including ORONDIS for vegetables and specialty crops, as well as ADEPIDYN, a broad-spectrum fungicide.
“We are accelerating the rate of our innovation, while further improving productivity and return on investment,” Trish Malarkey, Syngenta's head of research and development, said. “We are at the beginning of an exciting period in the innovation journey of Syngenta, with cutting-edge science driving significant value creation in the short, medium and long term across all technologies."
