Bayer CropScience has new weed and pest app

Bayer CropScience in the United Kingdom said Monday it has combined three mobile apps into a single one that combines weed and pest identification with treatment information.

The new user-friendly app, Bayer Agronomy Tool, replaces the popular WeedSpotter, PestSpotter and Bayer product manual apps introduced by the company three years ago. It features new high-quality images that can be enlarged to focus on key weed and pest features.

Bayer CropScience Digital Coordinator Rachael Roberts said the company has taken the best elements from the three former apps and combined them into a single app and made it even easier to use.

The new app also gives users the ability to register for automatic updates on changes in Bayer products.

“The app will always feature the latest label information, but users can also sign up for automatic notifications for product changes via a push-notification from the app or email,” Roberts said.

As with the previous apps, the Bayer Agronomy Tool is free and can be downloaded from the App Store for iOS devices; an Android version is being developed.

The previous apps have been withdrawn from the Apple store and should be deleted because they will no longer be updated.
