Corn growers group welcomes White House's Pollinator Health Strategy

The National Corn Growers Association (NCGA) trumpeted the White House Pollinator Health Task Force's  release of the National Pollinator Health Strategy on Tuesday, a move the corn growers group said demonstrates the importance of public-private partnerships.

The NCGA also called for continued discussion and collaboration between farmers, industry and government about how to ensure a healthy and robust population of honeybees and other pollinators.

Don Glenn, chairman of NCGA’s Production and Stewardship Action Team, said that even though corn does not rely on pollinators, the association recognizes they are critical to the health and vitality of agriculture.

“The National Pollinator Health Strategy underscores that everyone – farmers, beekeepers, conservationists, industry and government – must work together to solve this challenge,” Glenn said.
