Plant Health Care hires new commercial chief for NAFTA region

Plant Health Care recently hired Jeff Tweedy to be head of commercial operations for the NAFTA region.

In the newly created role, Tweedy will oversee commercial expansion of the company’s business in the U.S., Canada and Mexico; he will report directly to CEO Paul Schmidt.

Schmidt said Tweedy’s addition reflects the company’s emphasis on its portfolio of commercial products and their growth potential.

“Jeff brings a wealth of agricultural experience across a broad range of vital functions, including strategic planning, product development and registration, supply chain, sales and marketing," Schmidt said.

Tweedy has spent his entire career in agriculture. Most recently, he was vice president of U.S. ag and turf & ornamental sales at Arysta LifeScience. He also has held management positions at Syngenta/Zeneca, American Cyanamid and Sandoz Crop Protection.

Tweedy holds a bachelor's degree in plant and soil science, and a master's degree in weed science from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.
