As part of its effort to help provide Chinese growers sustainable agricultural technologies to help the country deal with its well-documented shortage of arable land, AkzoNobel has introduced new adjuvant and dispersant offerings that increase effectiveness while using less of the product, the company said today.
AkzoNobel’s Global Sales and Marketing Director John Cate said the company offers innovative and cost-effective agrochemical technologies in countries around the world.
"We strive to focus on local development and production to ensure that we serve our customers as effectively as possible, especially in large agricultural markets such as China, which is strategically important for us," Cate said.
AkzoNobel's other agrochemicals in China include surfactants to increase the crop yield per acre by controlling weeds, fungus and insects; chelates, the raw materials for micronutrients, which improve crop quality and yield; ethylenediamine, which is a key intermediate for fungicides and pesticides; diethanolamine, a key raw material for producing herbicides; and monochloroacetic acid, which is used by agrobusinesses as a building block to produce certain insecticides and herbicides.
